Your Fee Helps Provide Support For Families

We are so passionate about birth work that we believe every family deserves doula support and education throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and after their new baby has arrived. Every client who purchases our services through Birth It Forward helps to fund our non-profit work, bringing low and no-cost services to families who can’t afford them. We look forward to partnering with you to provide support, education, and care to the greater Kansas City community!

Birth it Forward works with…

  • Domestic Violence Shelters
  • Shelters for teens moms
  • Low-income families

… to provide no and low-cost birth and postpartum support.

Continuity of Care

A doula working with Birth it Forward is backed by a full team of professionals, all prepared to ensure you receive continuous support during pregnancy and postpartum.  Your doula, or doula team, will work with you to develop birth and postpartum plans that work well for your family, helping you to achieve your goals and supporting you in your story.

During pregnancy, you meet with both of your primary birth doulas, get questions answered and prepare a plan for your birth.

If you want to breastfeed, you could also choose to meet one on one with a breastfeeding educator before the baby is born to develop your plan to give you the best start possible.

Your breastfeeding educator is in contact with your doulas, letting them know the best way to support you in your feeding goals.

Your postpartum doula could have been a part of the birth team, or maybe it’s someone else. Still, everyone remains in communication about your care, what is going on with your family, and individual needs.

If you choose to attend one of our Mother’s Closet Events and your doula is there working the event. She knows that there’s a tool that you would really benefit from and sets it aside for you. She’s able to show you how it works.

After the baby is born, you again can meet with a breastfeeding educator, and they work directly with your postpartum doula to help them to provide care that will help yu to meet your feeding goals.
